I must go into the gardens again,
To the lush and fragrant scene;
Though roses are drooping, elegant lupins
Stretch bravely up through the green.

I must go into the gardens again,
To that heavenly plot 'neath the sky.
Where perfumed pinks grow, there's a wonderful show
Where sweet phlox and delphiniums vie.

I must go down to the cool riverside,
Down the steep paths dotted with palms
Where we see the mystery of natural history
Revealed in its magical charms.

BUT, I won't go into the gardens again
By the Abbey - they caused me anxiety;
For the wonders displayed (I found after I'd paid)
Were quite filled with pink impropriety!

I do want to visit the gardens again;
The flowers simply beg to be viewed:
I'll strip to my vest if it really is best,
But I draw the line firmly at NUDE!

So I'll only go into the gardens again
When I'm sure that those pendulous forms -
All fleshy and flabby in the shade of the Abbey
Have DEFINITELY, UTTERLY, GORN!!
