Delia Poole born in Malmesbury, tells us here her memories of what it was like to grow up in the late 1940s through to the early 1960s. Dee gives us a good insight into how it was to live in an era, where nothing much had changed in the country for a hundred years.
All this was soon to be swept aside as the sixties were upon us with their rapid changes to all aspects of life becoming the everyday norm. Delia paints a picture of life moving at a much more leisurely and less stressful pace in the days when people achieved adequate happiness with so little money and possessions.
